OS Images
Basic Concepts
OS Image: An operating system template used to create instances. It contains the operating system and basic boot environment.
Public Image: A standard image provided by the platform for quickly creating common Linux instances.
Custom Image: A user-created image used to reuse an existing business environment.
Minimum Requirements: The minimum system disk and memory requirements of the image. Instance creation must satisfy these requirements.
OS images are used to create ECS instances. Go to Images > OS Images, select a region, and use the Custom Images and Public Images tabs.
View OS Images
Viewing OS images helps confirm available operating systems, image status, and minimum resource requirements.
On the OS Images page, switch to Public Images.
Use the search box to search by image name or ID.
Review ID / Name, Description, Status, Type, Size, Minimum Requirements, and Operating System.
When creating an instance, select an image whose status is Active and whose minimum disk requirement is compatible with the system disk.
