Overview
L4 Proxy is a network forwarding technology operating at Layer 4 (Transport Layer) of the OSI model. It forwards data packets based on TCP or UDP protocols, without parsing application-layer content. Instead, it transparently routes client requests to backend servers based solely on destination IP and port, enabling centralized access, load balancing, and backend service masking.
Note: Security CDN currently supports only TCP-based L4 proxy services. UDP is not supported at this time.
Use Cases
Game Acceleration
Provides globally distributed DDoS protection for gaming clients. Combined with intelligent routing strategies and a high-performance edge network, it effectively mitigates common threats and network bottlenecks in game services. Ideal for competitive multiplayer games, real-time battle arenas, and mobile games where low latency and stable connections are critical.
Financial Services
Offers secure, low-latency, and highly available access for core systems in banking, payments, securities, and insurance—including payment gateways, account centers, and trading systems. By leveraging L4 Proxy and TCP stack optimization, it meets regulatory requirements and supports high-frequency, low-latency transactions.
Product Advantages
Global Acceleration with Edge-based Protection
Security CDN features service nodes in 300+ cities across 6 continents, supporting global load balancing and dynamic capacity scaling. This enables low-latency access and near-source protection, meeting both performance and security needs.
Full-scale DDoS Protection with Predictable Cost
Powered by 80+ Tbps of mitigation bandwidth and proprietary intelligent protection clusters, Security CDN provides unmetered DDoS mitigation with no charge based on attack volume—offering powerful defense with cost control.
High Availability
Abnormal traffic is automatically detected and mitigated in real time. Services remain low-latency and jitter-free, even during massive attack events, ensuring continuous and stable performance.
Dedicated Resources & Business Isolation
Each customer is assigned dedicated IP resources, preventing cross-impact and ensuring strong isolation between services. This guarantees the security and stability of mission-critical operations.
